TigerAir One-Ups US YouTuber Adam Saleh

16th Dec 2016

US Youtuber, the self-proclaimed "professional idiot" Adam Saleh, recently put a video of smuggling himself on board a TigerAir plane as baggage. Why? To show that you can fly for free from one city to another and not pay anything.

The only problem? He got exposed by TigerAir in a most hilarious fashion you can imagine.

In the vid, Saleh came up with the crazy idea to smuggle himself in a suitcase. And, according to the Youtuber, it worked. He said this on Twitter (@omgAdamSaleh), along with a video of his "accomplishment":

"New Video is Up!! I smuggled myself on a plane to another city and IT Worked!! (IN A SUITCASE).

But Tigerair Australia had a ready reply:

@omgAdamSaleh Nice try Adam, but definitely a few inconsistencies with this vid, namely the fact we have footage of you boarding the plane!

And that's not all. The video is conveniently edited so it doesn't show Salah entering a computerized check-in booth or that the seat Saleh's friends claimed were keeping for him.

TigerAir also sent this opened letter, addressing it to Saleh:

"Firstly, you wouldn't have been accepted by our automated bag drop machines at 66kg as a friendly staff member would have stepped in to assist. Secondly, some aircraft have heated baggage holds but the aircraft you were on does not and it gets pretty cold at 36,000 feet so by the time you arrived in Sydney you would have been a popsicle."

And the coup de gras:

"Thirdly, we have footage of you boarding the aircraft using your legs."

Burn!

TigerAir also asked the fake video to be removed off YouTube:

"TigerAir Australia has a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour and has investigated this matter as a priority. We can confirm that the footage is not genuine and we have requested that the footage be removed as a consequence."

Well, at least Saleh got the views he wanted, though probably not for the reason he intended in the first place.

Oh, and he was flying from Melbourne to Sydney, if you're interested.
