Qantas is making some investments to ensure a bright future for the company. Among such investments are the expansion of its lounge at Perth Airport and the launching of the EFBs, or Electronic Flight Bag applications for its pilots.

The airline is planning to increase the size of its lounge at Perth Airport through creating a new level just above the current lounge, which is situated in Terminal 4, between gates 13 and 14. This expansion project have started two weeks ago, and is expected to be done February next year. The additional space will house more seats to the travellers, as well as new work areas and meals space.

A long-term review of the airlines? lounges at the airport will also be performed, in order to help "meet the growing demand for premium air travel particularly from corporate clients and business travellers," according to Domestic Executive Manager for Customer Experience Samantha Taranto. Basically, the review is a part of the redevelopment plan.

Another investment set by the airline is the EFB app for its Airbus fleet. According to the statement released by Airbus, Qantas pilots and Airbus engineers were in a joint effort to determine which EFB applications work best for the airline?s pilot community. The app will help the pilots perform calculations of aircraft performance.

?We?re pleased to be working with Airbus on this innovative new EFB application, which will form part of the broader roll-out of iPads to all Qantas pilots over the coming months," said by Qantas? Captain David Oliver
