Qantas Expands Lounge at Perth Airport

14th Mar 2013

Qantas continues to provide its business and premium travelers enhanced services with the opening of its newly-expanded Qantas Club lounge located at the Perth Airport.

The expansion involved the addition of an ample space, equivalent to one-third the size of the old lounge, or one level immediately below the existing facility.

The present lounge now provides an additional capacity of 140 more travelers on a 400 square meters expansion. Aside from the increased seating capacity, it also provides more work areas as well as bigger space for quick bites and refreshment between flights.

The flag carrier will soon have the airport's Terminals 3 and 4 for its exclusive use and three of its subsidiaries: Jetstar Airways, QantasLink and Network Aviation.

Qantas is currently conducting a long-term review of its Perth Airport lounges to help the airline achieve its goal of meeting the growing demand in the premium air travel sector, consisting mostly of business travelers and corporate clients. This was disclosed to Australian Business Traveller by Qantas Domestic Executive Manager for Customer Experience, Samantha Taranto, late last year.

She added that the review should serve as its yardstick to expand or downsize its lounges located in all major airports in Australia and around the world where demand warrants it.

The executive also revealed that the large majority of flights at Perth Airport are operated by the Qantas Group carriers which include Qantas, QantasLink, Jetstar Airways and Network Aviation. She added that the airline is very positive on its future as it is now hatching plans to meet the growing demand of its clients seeking to avail of their lounges.
