Virgin Australia Sells Super Cheap Fares by Mistake

8th Nov 2016

According to the fare monitoring service Scott's Cheap Flights, codeshare partner carriers Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines were selling some ludicrously low fares on Tuesday morning.

If you were lucky and fast enough and happened to chance by I Want That Flight website, you had the opportunity to buy a ticket from Melbourne to London for $743, from Sydney to Rome for $783 or from Perth to Tokyo for $561.

Needless to say, the sale has quickly been corrected. Don't worry, though, if you already bought a ticket while it was open it seems that Virgin Australia will honor your purchase. Good for them!

Here's what a spokesperson for Virgin Australia said about this:

"Unfortunately due to a technical glitch, some fares seen on the I Want That Flight website this morning were a bit too good to be true. We are working to have this rectified and apologise for any confusion this may have caused."
