The three most awarded airlines in the region once again wowed their respective customers as they got the nod for the prestigious honors during the annual Customer Satisfaction Awards conducted by Roy Morgan Research.

Australia's flag carrier, Qantas, edged out its closest rival, Virgin Australia, to bag the coveted award, Domestic Airline of the Year.

However, Virgin Australia didn't seem to allow its arch rival to sweep all the honors as it snared the other prestigious award, Domestic Business Airline of the Year.

The perennial award-winner Singapore Airlines keeps its reputation as the most bemedaled carrier in the world as it, too, netted the most coveted International Airline of the Year, its second honors in as many years. Singapore Airlines got the highest votes for all but two months in the satisfaction charts of the year.

Sofitel, meanwhile, garnered the Hotel and Resort of the Year, in the hotel category.

The awards were given to the winners based on Roy Morgan?s annual customer satisfaction survey for the last 12 months of each year. This year's consumer and business surveys involved over 50,000 consumers and more than 22,000 business decision-makers.
