Jetstar Cancels Morning Sunshine Coast to Sydney Flights

23rd Jul 2015

Jetstar passengers who were looking to book a morning flight from Sunshine Coast to Sydney will have to search other ways to do so.

Jetstar only put up the morning service from Sunshine Coast to Sydney in order to cover the June-July holiday peak period. The Australian carrier has now decided to put a stop to the Sunshine Coast to Sydney morning service.

When asked about this, a Jetstar spokesman said the following:

"Like all airlines, we build our schedule around the demand for the services. We certainly see strong demand around seasonal periods with flying into the Sunshine Coast. Our capacity levels in and out of the Sunshine Coast are not decreasing. It's not a case that we've reduced our seats in and out of Maroochydore."

Earliest Flight Out of Sunshine Coast to Sydney Now Departs at 11:35 in the Morning

Jetstar's spokespersons also revealed that, from now on, the company's flight from Sydney, which departs the airport there at 11:35 AM, will be the first one from that city to get to the Sunshine Coast airport every day.

In addition, the Maroochydore to Sydney flight is now scheduled at 1:40 PM and will continue to fly daily as before.

The spokesman announced the next seasonal service from the Coast to begin for the September school holidays.

Virgin Australia Flights from the Coast Depart an Hour Before

Meantime, the other Australian airline operating to and from the Sunshine Coast has a regular flight from Maroochydore to Melbourne that departs at 10:25 AM every Monday. Flights in the other direction depart at 11:30 AM on other days of the week.

Flights to Sydney depart at 10:35 AM, also on Monday, and are scheduled at the same time in the other direction as those from Melbourne (11:30 AM).
