The Port Hedland Airport, or Port Hedland International Airport, is an airport that services Port Hedland and South Hedland. Being a public type of airport, it is currently owned and operated by the Town Council.

Runways

The airport has two chipseal-surfaced runways. The first one, runway 14/32, measures 2,500m long, while the second one, runway 18/36, measures 1,000m long.

Terminals

Port Hedland Airport presently has two terminals - international and domestic. Both are undergoing an expansion project, which supposedly should have been completed last July 2011.

Apart from terminal expansion, extension of other facilities is also on-going.

Flights and Destinations

The airport offers around 20,000 flights per year, provided by the following airlines: Airnorth, Qantas, QantasLink, Skywest Airlines, and Virgin Australia. Local destinations include Broome, Brisbane, Darwin, Karratha, Melbourne, and Perth. International destinations, on the other hand, are limited to the Indonesian city of Denpasar.

Taxis are available for the passengers. The airport has an existing taxiway, which is undergoing renovations. Another taxiway will be constructed soon.
